Ireland

Ireland is a western European country.
It has been part of the European Union since 1973.
The official symbol of the country is the Celtic harp (that you can find on Euro coins).
The three leaves clover is used by the rugby team.
There are two official languages in Ireland. Constitution stipulates that the first national language is Gaelic Irish, and English is an additional language, but English is really the main language. Gaelic is inevitably taught at school but it is spoken fluently by only very few persons.
