The Pierre Percée

The Pierre Percée is a stone on the summit of the Creys hill in Isére. It is located at a height of 1 270m and it is 5,50m tall. It is one of the 7 marvels of the Dauphiné.The legend says that in the 16th century, one duke wanted to build a wall around his property. One beautiful day, the devil listened to the hearsay and he proposed a challenge to the duke : to build the wall in a record time in exchange for his soul and the duke accepted. To save his soul, the duke should ride around his property before the devil finished the wall and the devil lost so he kicked the man who helped him build the wall and this man landed on 4 feet, like the Pierre Percée.
