"D" : Prince

 

Jade, ten years old , a little blond girl with green eyes, lived alone with her parents, she wanted a younger sister or small brother but her parents did not want one. One Summer evening Jade was playing in the garden and there, at that moment, she heard some shouts. By advancing towards these strange noises she saw some blood on the ground. She hesitated for a moment but found shelter behind a tree, she saw nothing, then suddenly she discoverred a small furry ball of black hairs, it was a wounded puppy. She moved near it, began to stroke it, but it growled.

Delicately she observed it to see where the blood came from and it was hurt on the paw.

Not to awaken the suspicions of her parents she retuned home, and left the dog behind but she worried a lot for the puppy. Later at night, Jade returned to see the puppy after she had had some rest and she took an old blanket, and a disinfectant. With caution, she bandaged its paw and gave it something to drink and eat. All night long , she thought of the puppy, she had already given it a name : Prince.

Knowing that her parents would refuse to keep it, she kept the secret. During the next days she visited Prince in secret, and brought him what it needed so its state improved. She felt that the puppy trusted her. She spent a lot of time with it, played, walked it, they had become accomplices, the best friends in the world. She was very happy. She did not think of a possible younger brother any more. All the same her parents had felt the change of behavior, they had questioned her but she had kept the secret. One day her father came home, he was very angry, furious, Jade knew that he had discovered Prince. She had never seen her father in a similar state, he shouted that she was a liar, an irresponsible girl, that he would never trust her again that she was punished, that he would give the dog, Jade could not find words to defend herself so she went to find shelter in her bedroom, she was very sad. Some days passed, Jade could not eat or speak any more. Her parents were worried, they consulted a doctor, her health was in danger. Her father did not want to give in for the child would win. Jade's health degraded, she fainted and she stayed in a hospital for one week .

When she came back, Jade discovered Prince in her house. She got better and she is very happy now.
