The mine in Chile

On 5 August 2010 in Chile 33 minors were trapped due to a collapse in the mine.
Fortunately they are still alive. The State has built a 700m-deep hole to give them food. The 33 miners won’t be able to go out before several months. A device is put up so they can talk with their family.

RETIREMENT AGE

In France, people should retire at 62 years old.
But there has been a lot of strikes because people want to leave at 60 years old.
So the trade unions asked people to demonstrate "place de la Concorde" at the end of National Assembly on Wednesday.
Public Transport and National Education were on strike.

The Variable Rate, a trap...

In the United States, many people have borrowed from banks at a low rate to become the owners of a house.
They did not know that the reimbursement rate was not fixed but variable up to 14%. The poorest could no longer repay, they found themselves ruined and expelled. Whole districts became unoccupied, and empty houses were worth the price of a movie ticket.

The French Football Team

The 2010 World Cup was a disaster for the French team. They lost all their matches.
Raymond Domenech was expelled on 22nd June 2010.
On 2nd July, the team got a new coach : Laurent Blanc.
On 7th September, they won their match versus Bosnia. It was a miracle!!
They were very happy.

The Cave of Lascaux

On Sunday, September 12th, we celebrated the 70 years of the discovery of the Lascaux cave.
But this place is disappearing little by little because it has many mushrooms and many molds!!!
This place is 18.000 years old.
We can’t visit this cave because it is very fragile but it remains a very beautiful place....
You should go there, it is very beautiful !

Our Village Party

The moto club of Monteynard organized a festival last week called the “bread” party.
Everybody cooked bread and pizza then we baked them in the old oven of our village and everybody had food and drank coke, Orangina and beer. Then we danced with friends and spoke with them. That lasted two days and it takes place only once a year. That's good!!!

The French football team

There was no victory at the 2008 European competition for the French team.
We thought of an improvement in South Africa but it wasn’t the case.
The former world champion Laurent Blanc was able to motivate his team, and it won against the Bosnian team.
We hope the Blues will continue to sing the “Marseillaise” and run.
